Marty Cohen’s photographs are an expression of his appreciation of the beauty that surrounds us. He has loved photography and taken photographs for many years, most seriously for the past 15 years. He practiced Pediatrics for 35 years, caring for infants and children. Since retiring in 2005, he has been able to devote his time to photography and website development.
He grew up in Southern California and moved to San Francisco to attend Medical School and subsequently to obtain his training in Pediatrics. From 1971 to 1973, Marty cared for children at the Gallup Indian Medical Center in Gallup, New Mexico. There he fell in love with the Southwest. He developed a love and appreciation for the unique beauty of the people and the high desert there. He moved back to San Francisco until 1982, and then to the Central Valley of California, where he practiced and taught Pediatrics until 2000 when he and his wife Cathleen moved to Sedona, Arizona. They lived in Sedona for five years until Marty retired, then moved back to California and they now live on the beautiful Monterey Peninsula.
Marty offers you his photographs of the Southwest, California’s Central
Coast, Hawaii and his recent trip to Kenya and Tanzania, Africa. They express
his love for the world around him, nature’s unique and dynamic effect
on our surroundings daily, and the wonderful creatures that inhabit the world
with us.
